Absenteeism resulting from sickness or accidental injuries are costly for an employer. In addition to the cost of disability benefits, the employer also absorbing a productivity loss and must sometime assume temporary replacement costs which may be coupled with training costs. An increase in group insurance premiums may also occur at the renewal.

The Conference Board of Canada was estimating, a few years ago, that each single sick day was costing an average of $300 to an employer.


An adequate management of disability cases requires specialized and rigorous interventions. In addition, it is important to track both the incidence and costs in order to assess the situation.

Well beyond the traditional disability management approach, our firm has adopted a "rapid and continuous intervention" process which aims at establishing a positive synergy between the case manager, the patient and the treating physician. This approach generally allows to accelerate the return to work and to prevent abuse. We maintain close contact with our clients so they can follow the evolution of each case and take well informed administrative decisions which necessary for the continuity of their operations. Finally, any significant case intervention is previously discussed with the client to ensure compliance with the corporate philosophy.

- follow-up of medical evolution

- coordination with any third party implicated (insurance carrier, QPP, WCB, etc.) including the coordination of long term disability claims if applicable.

We provide detailed monthly reports which will allow you to follow adequately the overall experience and costs while being informed also of the evolution of each case and of the upcoming key events. The reports can be structured to accommodate your organizational structure to facilitate cost control and human resources planning. Reports are generally provided in electronic format
(PDF or Excel format).

Employment Insurance Rebate
